Vehicle Registration renewal options
Now that vehicle registration labels are no longer sent out by the Department of Transport and Main Roads
(DTMR), there are various tools available to help you ensure your vehicle is registered. Go to https://www.tmr.qld.gov.au or call 13 23 80 for more information.
It is important to remember that you can be fined for not having your address details or vehicle registration up to date and that non-payment of infringement notices can result in loss of demerit points and even the suspension of your driving licence.
You can check the status of your Qld Rego and request a replacement registration certificate.
DTMR has also introduced a new payment option to enable customers to make regular quarterly direct debit payments towards their vehicle registration renewal. The “set and forget” direct debit payment option allows you to
spread your annual renewal payment by making a payment every three months.
Rego renewal notices are sent out to your last recorded address approximately four weeks prior to the registration expiry date. That’s why it is important to ensure your address is up to date. In fact, it is an offence not to
update your address on your driving licence within 14 days. Remember also to update your address with go via or any other toll payment provider if you have an account with them.
