Funding announced for Safer School Zone for Coolum State School
Coolum State School students will look forward to safer journeys to and from class each day with the announcement of funding to be provided for flashing school zone signs.
Member for Maroochydore Fiona Simpson said more that many schools across Queensland are already benefiting from safer school zones as we are halfway through implementing the LNP Government’s $10 million school flashing lights program.
Ms Simpson said that flashing school lights will be installed on the Coolum-Yandina Road near the Coolum State School early next year.
“The safety of children walking to and from school is paramount and the continued roll out of flashing school zone signs across the state is proof of our commitment to child safety,” Ms Simpson said.
“This important election promise gives parents peace of mind their children are safer heading to and from school.
"These flashing school lights will help motorists to remember to slow down and improve road safety around our schools.
