Ms Simpson said that nearly $100,000 in grants will be paid to local groups in the Maroochydore electorate, including:

- Guide Dogs for the Blind Sunshine Coast Branch will receive $28,526 to purchase a motor vehicle;
“Our community benefits from the amazing efforts of our hard working non-profit organisations who provide vital services to local community. It was fantastic to see some generous grants being awarded this round given that so many non-profits have been struggling this year with fundraising” Ms Simpson said.
“I am committed to supporting them and ensuring they receive funding wherever possible.”
“I encourage all local groups, however big or small, to apply for the next round of funding and make the most of this wonderful opportunity.”
The next funding round is now open and closes 31 October 2020.
